The ill Fated Empress

  a fascinating ship

Picture

In her day the Empress of Britain, which was launched in 1930 and began her active life in 1931, was the most fabulously luxurious liner in the world.  She had an incredible and eventful history for not only did she have glamorous passenger lists undertaking exotic round the world cruises but she also came to an extremely tragic end having been requisitioned as a troopship in the very early days of World War II. But well after her sinking her story continued with a mystery which even today still only fuels speculation.

A film and/or a TV series or a feature film about the lifespan of the vessel is envisaged by a number of enthusiasts. The events and the personalities surrounding it would be sure to intrigue, excite and thrill audiences around the world. I was invited to try to broaden and consolidate previous research into the ship's eventful life, it's journeys and it's incredible passenger lists - go to the 'Publications' link above to see more . . . . .
